RESULTS: Sylum Defeats Lush, Ladies Choice & Tyler Return!

The war between Sid Sylum and Kenny Lush went to the extreme on Friday night in Surrey, as Sylum and Lush did battle in a vicious dog collar chain match! Both men beat each other up, down and around the entire Bridgeview Hall with chairs and the thick steel chain attached to both their necks! Inside the ring, Sylum and Lush struck each other with vicious steel chairs, both swinging them at each other and simply throwing them full force at each others' heads, causing both competitors to be busted open! Interference by The Natural cost Lush a chance at victory, but Lush's girlfriend Nicole Matthews came to ringside to counteract Natural... only to be struck in the head with a steel chair by her former beau Sylum! An enraged Lush nearly drove Sylum through the ring with the 100 Mile Driver, but as Lush checked on an unconscious Nicole, Natural entered the ring and flattened Lush with a big splash! A groggy and bloody Sylum set Lush on the top rope, then drove him through two set-up chairs with a huge superplex for the victory! The members of Chill Town came to the ring to celebrate the victory, but as Scotty Mac attempted to shake Sylum's hand, Sylum slapped him across the face! Sylum left the ring and went backstage as Chill Town held back a shocked and angry Scotty Mac!

Pop Culture is riding high in ECCW, having successfully defended their NWA/ECCW tag team championship, and now introducing the newest member of Pop Culture - SuperGirls champion Veronika Vice! Early in the show, Ice promised that Bishop would win the NWA/ECCW Championship later that night, with Bishop even going so far as to attack a SLAM Academy student that Bishop had injured recently while running roughshod at the Academy. As Ice angered the crowd at the Bridgeview Hall, gloating that there was nobody left to beat, he was interrupted... by the returning Ladies Choice and "Rocket" Randy Tyler! The two former NWA/ECCW Champions told Pop Culture that there was still somebody waiting for them, and demanded a shot at the NWA/ECCW tag team championship right then and there! The three members of Pop Culture bailed out, but Veronika didn't get far, as Tenille Dashwood stormed to the ring and threw her back inside to start the SuperGirls championship match! Fresh off her win over Nicole Matthews last week in Abbotsford, Tenille did everything she could to take home the SuperGirls title, but Veronika was too much for her, catching the challenger in a Boston Crab for the submission victory. As Veronika left the ring, she was again stopped, but this time by Junior, still smitten over Veronika despite the kick to the groin in Abbotsford. Unswayed, Junior had a teddy bear present for Veronika, which she seemed to be touched by.. until she again punted Junior in the groin and left him in serious pain in the ring.

The first round matches in the 2009 Pacific Cup tournament were decided in Surrey, by a random drawing between the competitors in the tournament! The first round matches were decided in the drawing, with final bracketing based on win/loss records:

* MANTHER vs. Tony Baroni
* Mattias Wild vs. "Brilliant" Billy Suede
* Nicole Matthews vs. Artemis Spencer
* El Phantasmo vs. "Superfly" Dan Myers
* Jamie Diaz vs. "Ravenous" Randy Myers
* Kyle O'Reilly vs. Azeem The Dream

The drawing was not without its own fireworks, eight days before the tournament in Vancouver! Azeem and O'Reilly went nose to nose, nearly boiling over as the two began shoving each other before they were restrained. Natural then insulted Nicole, stating that any member of Chill Town could beat her! Nicole suggested that she could face Ray Brooks, who ran to the ring to face Nicole in an intergender contest, only for Nicole to roll him up for the pinfall victory! After the match, the members of Chill Town surrounded Matthews, with Sylum threatening to strike Nicole with the dog collar chain! Scotty Mac actually put a stop to it, as the Chill Town leader apparently felt uncomfortable with the act.. which gave Kenny Lush the opportunity to run Chill Town off and save Nicole from harm (at that point in the night...)

Pop Culture's proclamation that the NWA/ECCW Championship was in hand had a major roadblock in the way - the current champion, Memphis, who was not going down without a fight! Halfway through the match, Ice was neutralized by Ladies Choice & "Rocket" Randy Tyler, who forced the Larger Than Life Superstar from ringside, leaving Memphis and Bishop to go one on one. Bishop brutalized the ribs of Memphis throughout, but as all great champions do, Memphis was able to find a way to win and retain the NWA/ECCW Championship! After the match, an angered Bishop viciously powerbombed Memphis on the arena floor, as Memphis' brother MR2 watched from the commentary table... and walked away, leaving his brother writhing in pain on the floor! Memphis was helped out by ECCW personnel, his ribs in severe pain, but still holding the NWA/ECCW Championship!

Scotty Mac had his own championship to defend in Surrey, putting the NWA Canadian heavyweight title on the line against former champion Fast Freddy Funk, but even before the match started, The Natural threw him a curveball, stating that he had to prepare Sylum for the dog collar chain match, leaving him with a "replacement" at ringside - Ray Brooks! After being battered around the ring by Freddy early on, Scotty began chopping Freddy down to size, attacking the knee of the big man, but Freddy overcame the odds and drove Scotty to the mat with the Funk Slam! Freddy climbed the ropes for the splash that would net him a second Canadian heavyweight title, only for Brooks to grab Funk's leg just long enough for Scotty to superkick him and send him crashing to the mat! As Funk wobbled to his feet, Scotty put him down with a second superkick to net the victory and retain the NWA Canadian heavyweight championship!

In a preview of the 2009 Pacific Cup tournament next Saturday night, Azeem The Dream, El Phantasmo, MANTHER and "Brilliant" Billy Suede did battle in a Four Way Frenzy that gave the fans just a taste of the high flying junior heavyweight action that will be part of the 2009 Pacific Cup tournament! Sadly, it wasn't the skills of the competitors involved that decided the match, but The Church of the Divine Prophecy, who attacked MANTHER at ringside, leaving him prey to Phantasmo's frog splash which gave El Phantasmo the victory in the Four Way Frenzy. After the contest, the Church members kept Suede and Phantasmo out of the ring as Prophet blasted MANTHER in the face with his thick book, "Book of Divine Prophecy". Matt Classic upped the ante, delivering a vicious curbstomp to MANTHER onto the tome and leaving MANTHER unconscious in the ring! MANTHER had to be helped to the back, barely able to walk after the attack by his former friends. Will MANTHER be ready in just eight days' time for the 2009 Pacific Cup tournament, or did the Church of the Divine Prophecy strike his chances down?

The battles between Egos & Icons and the team of Volt Vegas & "Dastardly" Danni Deeds continued in Surrey as Nick Price & Tony Baroni faced Vegas & Deeds in a tag team encounter! Deeds took the brunt of the punishment from Price & Baroni, who kept drawing Vegas into the ring to distract NWA representative and referee Mike Sweetser, allowing Egos & Icons to doubleteam Deeds mercilessly! Finally, Deeds was able to make the tag to Vegas, who cleaned house in the ring of all the members of Egos & Icons! Vegas drove Price into the mat with a vicious spear, but as he went to do the same to Baroni, Baroni sidestepped and Vegas flattened Sweetser with the spear! With the referee down, Egos & Icons introduced two steel chairs into the ring - only for Vegas to intercept one of the chairs and begin a duel with the chairs with Diaz! An injured Sweetser save the chairs in play and declared the match a no contest, and demanded that Diaz and Vegas put the chairs down or be suspended indefinitely, with Diaz being ejected from the Pacific Cup if he didn't comply! Sweetser then went one step further, as he angrily informed Diaz and Vegas that if they wanted to be hardcore so badly, they could prove it next month in Surrey, as the two would be in a triple threat hardcore match... against Moondog Manson!

In the opening contest, Alex Plexis defeated Callos and Scott Steel in a triple threat match, pinning Callos after delivering the Plexclamation Mark.. but the three were not finished yet, as Cremator stalked to the ring and attacked all three competitors! Plexis and Steel were disposed of, leaving Callos alone with Cremator... with Cremator attempting to rip off Callos' mask! Callos was left laying, as Cremator left the ring.. but the question is, what has gotten into Cremator, and why did he do this?
